The Lingerie of the Week article is a weird thing sometimes. On the one hand, I feel like it should feature ever wilder, more creative, and technically innovative lingerie designers. On the other hand, theres something to be said for simple, classic, even basic silhouettes done well. Its a careful balance of keeping things new and fresh and exciting, but also being being genuine about what I really like. After all, the things I put into this feature have undeniably caught my attention in some way.
I think I first started paying attention to With Love Lilly when I ran across their Candy PJ set on Twitter (shown above and now sold out). Over the last few weeks, Ive been steadily favoriting more and more of this brands items, and when I finally added the Champagne Bralette to my bookmarks (not coincidentally the subject of todays blog post), I knew I had to mention them on TLA. This bralette is by no means a technical marvel, even my uneducated eye sees the simplicity of the construction. Yet I cant help but love the beaded overlay over the sheer cups, and how it extends over the straps. This bra is like jewelry for the decolletage. I want to wear it with a sheer top or bodysuit just so that gorgeous detail is visible.
Surprisingly, this bralette is available up to a size 34 E/F (as well as custom sizing), though I certainly wouldnt expect it to be remotely supportive. This is a piece thats very much about decorating ones bosom, not fitting it, and that, of course, is perfectly all right. The Champagne Bralette retails for ВЈ42.00 (approximately $67.00), and takes about 2-3 weeks to be made and dispatched. There is a coordinating thong, but Im not as excited about that. Id love to see this brand make some more complex knickers to match the extravagance of that bra.
What do you think of With Love Lilly? Is this a brand youd try? And what are your thoughts on that bra?
